Camps - Alice Springs & Carnegie Station - All others were bush camps.

 

Tyre Punctures = 29 (please see tyre report below)
Many partially blocked radiators (dust & fluff) - blown out by our compressor and OK
Radiator fan damaged by wayward stick - roughly repaired (OK for remainder of trip)
Shock Absorber rubber trouble - repaired
Numerous minor problems
     Loose & lost nuts & bolts, electrical connections
     Broken & bent aerials, (usually radio)

 

Several dewy mornings - a few light rain showers
Coldest morning = - 8.4 degrees at 7:30am
Warmest day = 28 degrees at 1:15pm

Tyres for "Carnegie 1897" Expedition

    All participating vehicles were required to fit heavy sidewall tyres, in this case MRF tyres were used exclusively. All tyres were mounted on Split Rims.

All punctures were repaired to Rema Tip-Top specifications.
